Thus, any significant departure from the hor-izontal reflects deformation and is a geological structure. This study involves the construction of a three-dimensional (3D) geologic model of Paleozoic strata that are part of an underground gas storage field in northern, Illinois, USA. The . Structural Features: Polygon and Point Features. Data. Structural features depicted are limited to well documented, significant anticlines and domes (and the Glasford Disturbance), impact features, explosion features, Silurian reefs, and buried Precambrian hills in Illinois. Names of the features are indicated. Structural deformation, faults and fracture zones, appears to provide a pathway for vertical gas migration. However, stratigraphic (lateral) heterogeneities associated with the reservoir and seal rocks may provide additional vertical pathways.
